Emmanuelle Beart was born on August 14, 1965 in St Tropez, France. During her teens, Emmanuelle decided to become an actress. With her parents support, their family moved to Canada for four years so that the then 15-year-old Beart could learn English. Although she already signed on to appear on a Robert Altman movie, but the production didn’t materialize. When they returned to France in 1983, Emmanuelle Beart took up drama classes and landed her first acting role in the TV-movie “Raison perdue,” followed by a lead role in the 1985 movie “L’amour en douce.”

Emmanuelle Beart became a household name in French films. Although she appeared in the 1986 production of “La Repetition,” she excelled in feature films. Emmanuelle Beart has received Cesar Award nominations for ‘Best Actress’ for her work on “A Strange Passion” (Un amour interdit), “Love on the Quiet” (L'amour en douce), “Children of Chaos” (Les enfants du désordre), “The Beautiful Troublemaker” (La belle noiseuse), “A Heart in Winter” (Un coeur en hiver) and “Nelly and Mr. Arnaud” (Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud).

In 1986, Emmanuelle Beart made an impact on the US audience with her portrayal of Manon Cadoret, the surviving daughter of Gerard Depardieu, in the 1986 movie “Manon des sources.” For her work on the film, Emmanuelle Beart received a Cesar Award for ‘Best Supporting Actress.’ She also beat out 5,000 candidates to play the lead role in the 1987 movie “Date with an Angel” and played a CIA agent in the Tom Cruise film “Mission: Impossible” in 1996.

Emmanuelle Beart is an ambassador for UNICEF and United Nations Children's Fun since the mid-90s. In 1995, Emmanuelle Beart became the spokesperson for Christian Dior. She ranked #32 in Empire Magazine’s list of “100 Sexiest Stars in film History” and #19 in the Femme Fatales Magazine list of “Sci-Fi's Sexy 50.”

Emmanuelle Beart met actor Daniel Auteuil on the set of their 1986 movie “Manon des Sources.” Beart and Auteuil welcomed their daughter Nelly in April 18, 1992 and got married in 1993. After a ten-year relationship, Beart and Auteuil divorced in 1995. On August 13, 2008, Emmanuelle Beart married French actor Michael Cohen.
